FatPapas Burgers And Shakes

The very first food post from Eat.Wanders features the super popular burger café which is simply da bomb! It’s FatPapas Burgers and Shakes! Hands down they serve the best halal burgers in town, which you also can customize and add on ingredients to it. Not forgetting they have many other main courses as well such as bbq beef ribs.

It is located at 17 Bali Lane, same row as Krave café by the road. ONE THING TO TAKE NOTE OF: THE WAITING TIME! The queue is long and the estimated waiting time takes around 1 hour. Do take note that for fasting month period, no reservation is allowed and it opens from 6pm onwards. For normal days and months, don’t worry as they are open from 12pm-11pm daily and reservations are available from Monday to Thursdays only. (Update: they have another newly opened outlet at 465 Joo Chiat Road! Hopefully the line to dine in won't be

long anymore.)

The restaurant is a two storey café. It is quite small and cramp but comfortable enough to have a good catch up sessions with your loved ones while savouring their burgers. Black and white concept with walls filled with illustrations. Their service is great, with warm hospitality. The waiters are very friendly and definitely patient. They take their time to listen to all your requests and orders, answer all your enquiries and even tell you how the menu works if needed. Not only that, at FatPapas you got a high chance to meet our local celebrity aka the owner, which is Sheikh Haikel hahaha!

Got to taste three different burgers which are Black Peppercorn, Wimpy and

Bolly Wooly.

Black Peppercorn Burger $13.00, with add-on fried egg +$1.50 (the one in the middle)

My most favourite one got to be this burger, Black Peppercorn burger, with fried egg which I added on. It is a classic beef burger coated with thick black pepper gravy in between sesame seed buns and also topped with onions. The black pepper taste is very distinctive and strong. A little bit salty for me but it is close to perfect hehe. The beef patty is tender and well cooked too. For the burger’s sesame seed bun, it was roasted first and you can clearly taste the butter seared to the bun, which compliments the beef patty very well. The burger meal is served with fries and salad. The fries is freaking awesome, thick cuts which is satisfying. Definitely homemade. For their salad, if you are someone who loves strong dressing and something different from the normal ranch and thousand island dressing, you would love their salad sauce.

Wimpy Burger (Beef) $15.00

Wimpy Burger (beef) $15.00

For their Wimpy burger, it is their top selling burger number one list in the menu. Burger with beef patties, fried egg, turkey bacon, melted cheddar and bbq sauce spread over the bun. The beef patty has a very strong taste, thus if you are someone who loves strong smelling beef you will love this. The texture of the beef patty was perfect, soft and juicy. Definitely not instant made. The turkey bacon adds on a salty touch to the burger and the bbq sauce matches well with the

beef patty.

Bolly Wolly Burger (on the right) $12.00

The next burger is the Bolly Wooly burger. A burger with lamb patty on lettuce, smoothered with homemade curry sauce with onion. The burger bun is a different one, it was honey oat bun. For this burger, it sure does have a distinctive taste of lamb, with curry that tasted quite sweet. The only downside was i think that it was quite dry and the curry gravy was not enough.

Lastly, I had this beautiful brownie with vanilla ice cream. Chocolatey, moist and simply a yummy dessert to end off my meal.

All in all, I was super satisfied after eating at FatPapas. The burgers were huge and delicious and i had a difficult time finishing one meal due to the large serving even though i have a big tummy hahaha. I WILL SURELY COME BACK AGAIN TO HAVE A BURGER FEAST! Thumbs up!
